Battery Recycling Facility
Span Consulting Engineers (SpanCE) was engaged by Spilth To Wealth Recyclers (S2W) to conduct a comprehensive structural assessment of critical components at their lead extraction facility in Mount Druitt, NSW. The inspection scope encompassed chemical silos, storage tanks, supporting frames, and an elevated platform floor used for processing hazardous materials. Based on comprehensive assessment findings, SpanCE produced an Inspection Report and developed a customized Maintenance and Inspection Manual specifically tailored to the facility's unique operational requirements. This manual provides:- Detailed inspection schedules and procedures
- Risk management protocols for handling hazardous chemicals
- Work Health and Safety (WHS) compliance guidelines
- Environmental management procedures
- Operational safety standards for daily activities

Billy's Bridge
Span Consulting Engineers (SpanCE) was engaged by vanHolland to conduct a detailed structural assessment of Billy's Bridge spanning Alexandria Canal. This 110-meter-long vehicular bridge, consisting of 10 spans supported by 9 piers and abutments at each end, required thorough inspection before the installation of new steel brackets designed to support the Jemena Gas Pipeline along the northern deck edge. Our engineering team conducted comprehensive visual inspections of all accessible structural components including drone survey and documented identified defects with location tags. The drone-captured images identified existing cracks on headstock faces that were not visible from embankment observations or even close-proximity boat access. The inspection report included:- Detailed defect classification and documentation
- Risk assessment of all identified structural concerns
- Prioritized recommendations with specific timeframes for rectification
- Special focus on headstock ends on upstream sides for pipe support replacement works

Gas Pipe Foundation
The gas infrastructure at Horsley Park is owned by Jemena and managed by Zinfra, which oversees inspections and maintenance works. As part of ongoing asset management, Zinfra identified defects in the foundation structure (concrete footings and anchor plates) supporting the Pipeline Inspection Gauge (PIG) Launcher and Receiver units and subsequently engaged vanHolland to undertake defect rectification works. As part of the repair works, Span Consulting Engineers (SpanCE) conducted a visual inspection of the affected foundations. The inspection report included:- Detailed defect classification and documentation
- Risk assessment of all identified structural concerns
- Presented repair options and Pros and Cons table for comparison
- Prioritized recommendations with specific timeframes for rectification
- Special focus on headstock ends on upstream sides for pipe support replacement works
